McQueens Dairies is looking for two Senior Full Stack Developers to take ownership of our customer-facing digital platforms.Our stack:Laravel for our back-end applications and APIsReact (with TypeScript) for our customer and colleague-facing front endsWordPress and WooCommerce for our eCommerce web storeYou will work across the whole customer journey: the web store where customers sign up, the customer account portal where they manage their deliveries and subscriptions, and the canvassing applications our field teams use to win new customers.Behind those sit Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Chargebee subscription billing, so a large part of the job is making our applications and those systems work well together.This is a senior, hands-on role. We want someone who can design a solution, build it, ship it and support it, and who can explain what they are doing to colleagues who are not developers.Hybrid working: 3 days a week in our Glasgow office (Port Dundas).Life at McQueensLife at McQueens is fun, fast-paced and rarely predictable. We are friendly, practical and focused on getting useful things into people's hands, so if you enjoy ownership, variety and visible impact, you should feel at home here.What You Will Work OnCustomer Account Portal (Laravel and React)Develop and maintain the portal customers use to manage their deliveries, holidays, subscriptions and paymentsBuild clear, reliable self-service journeys that reduce calls to customer servicesOwn the Laravel API behind the portal, including its integrations with CRM and billingKeep the portal fast, secure and dependable as customer numbers growCanvassing Applications (Laravel and React)Develop and maintain the applications our canvassers use in the field, and the admin tools behind themWork with the sales and operations teams to turn their needs into practical featuresMake sure new customers flow cleanly from the doorstep into CRM and billingeCommerce Web Store (WordPress and WooCommerce)Develop and maintain our WooCommerce store, including custom theme and plugin workImprove the checkout, conversion and performance of the storeKeep the store properly connected to the rest of our systemsIntegrationsDesign, build and maintain integrations between our applications and Dynamics 365 CRM, Chargebee and other business systemsBuild and consume REST APIs, and work with webhooks, queues and background jobsHandle the realities of third-party systems: rate limits, retries, errors and data that does not always agreeBuild in the logging, monitoring and error handling that let us find and fix problems quicklyEngineeringTake features from requirements through design, build, testing, release and supportWrite clean, tested, maintainable code, and review other people'sWork with Git, CI/CD pipelines and separate development, test and production environmentsDiagnose and resolve production issues across several systemsHelp set our technical standards and shape architectural decisionsKeep security, privacy and maintainability in mind from the startAbout YouCommunicationThis matters as much as the code. You will regularly work with colleagues in customer services, sales, operations and finance, as well as with external partners who look after our CRM.We are looking for someone who:Explains technical ideas in plain English to people who are not developersWrites clear tickets, updates and documentationAsks good questions to get to the real requirementIs comfortable saying "here are the options, and here is what I recommend"Keeps people informed without being chasedEssential Skills and ExperienceSenior-level commercial experience as a full stack or web developerStrong Laravel experience, including building and maintaining APIs, queues and scheduled jobsStrong React experience, ideally with TypeScriptSolid WordPress and WooCommerce development experience, including custom plugins or themesStrong PHP and JavaScriptGood knowledge of MySQL and SQLExperience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating with third-party systemsA good understanding of authentication, web security and secure developmentExperience with Git, automated testing and CI/CDStrong troubleshooting and debugging skills across the whole stackBuilding responsive, accessible and fast web applicationsAdvantageous ExperienceMicrosoft Dynamics 365 CRM or the Dataverse Web APIChargebee, or another subscription billing platformMicrosoft Azure, including Microsoft Entra ID (single sign-on)DockerFilament or other Laravel admin toolingPayment gateway integrationsSubscription or recurring-revenue businesseseCommerce checkout and conversion optimisationWeb analytics and tag managementModern data platforms such as DatabricksDirect experience of Dynamics or Chargebee is not essential if you have strong experience integrating with comparable enterprise systems.What We Are Looking ForYou take ownership and see problems through to the endYou care about the customer and the colleague using what you build, not just the codeYou balance speed of delivery with quality and securityYou are happy improving what already exists as well as building new thingsYou are comfortable working across several systems rather than oneWhat's in It for the Right Person?What you build here is used every day by customers and colleagues.
