Date posted: 9th January 2026Job Description: Senior Software DeveloperPay: From £50,000 to £60,000 per annum, Dependent on ExperienceHours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to FridayLocation: Denton, StockportJob Type: Full-timeIndustry: Chemical Distribution / ManufacturingAbout the Role​We are seeking a talented Senior Software Developer with a strong focus on development, automation, and general software engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to the software development team in the development process, as well as liaising with and management of third parties. A key element of this role is possessing a deep understanding of coding languages and software development programs. Success in this position is demonstrated by the development of high-quality applications that fulfil user requirements.If you are an excellent communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and are an experienced software developer, we would welcome your application. Training will be provided in-house to any successful candidates.Key tasks:Ensure key IT software and infrastructure is sufficient, stable, and secure.Conduct system and process analyses to identify weaknesses and opportunities.Have an understanding of the whole system and take responsibility of teaching this to others.Design, code, test, review and document software and apps to fit business and user needs, using the latest techniques, with embedded security controls.Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.Manage projects and report on plans and the development progress and application performance to the senior management team and the wider business.Instruct teams in the direction of software development and write procedures/provide training on new systems.Provide first line support for the company on all IT-related issues.Liaise with third party service providers and manage their project timelines.Integrate, develop, support, and provide technical advice on new and current third-party software, including SAP B1 HANA, Power BI and Monday.comFront and back-end development of Apps as well as the WordPress and Laravel websites.Education/Experience/Skills:Bachelor's degree in computer science or other recognised qualificationMinimum of 5 years of experience in computer programming or similar fieldStrong organisational and time-management skillsSpecial Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:Strong organisational and time-management skillsCritical thinking and excellent problem-solving skillsProven ability to analyse systems and build automation processesAble to work to tight deadlinesProject management and creation and implementing design plansAbility to perform and deal with 1st Line support issues and when requiredWhy Join Us?Be part of a collaborative and supportive team.Play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our customers.Opportunity to develop skills and experience within a specialist industry.How to ApplyPlease submit your CV and a brief cover letter detailing your relevant experience.
