Web Developer - PHP/Laravel

We're not looking for WordPress developers or button-clickers. We're hiring a proper PHP / Laravel engineer who can build, extend, and maintain real systems. If you take pride in writing clean, scalable code and want to work on a live customer platform used every day - this is for you.This role is fully office based, and remote based candidates will not be considered.Candidates must be located within 30 minutes of Westcott Venture Park, Buckinghamshire, and have a valid right to work in the UK.Job Title: Web Developer (PHP / Laravel)Location: Green Retreats, Westcott Venture ParkSalary: Up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experienceGreen Retreats is the UK's market-leading garden room manufacturer, and we're looking for a strong mid-to-senior Web Developer to join our small, focused engineering team.This is a hands-on role working directly with the Development Director, building and improving a customer portal used to manage orders, payments, and customer interactions. You'll be contributing to both new feature development and ongoing system improvements in a production environment.What you'll be doingBuilding and maintaining a Laravel-based customer platformDeveloping new functionality across PHP, JavaScript, and MySQLSupporting and improving existing systems (This is not a greenfield-only role - you'll be working on and improving an existing system as well as building new features.)Working with AWS-hosted infrastructureCollaborating closely within a small, engineering-led teamWhat we're looking forStrong commercial experience with PHP and LaravelSolid JavaScript and MySQL skillsProven ability to write clean, maintainable, production-quality codeComfortable working on both new features and legacy systemsGood communication skills and ability to work closely with stakeholdersImportant:This is not a role for WordPress template customisers or low-code developers.
