You&rsquo;ll work across bespoke systems and ecommerce platforms, contribute to technical decisions, and learn modern development and deployment practices along the way.</p><p>This role is perfect for someone who&rsquo;s curious, proactive, and wants to move beyond &ldquo;just coding&rdquo; into understanding how software is built, shipped, and scaled.</p><p><b>What You&rsquo;ll Be Doing </b></p><ul><li>Building and maintaining backend features using PHP</li><li>Working on custom-built applications and ecommerce solutions</li><li>Writing clean, readable, and maintainable code</li><li>Collaborating in code reviews and pair programming</li><li>Helping shape solutions and technical approaches</li><li>Learning to build and run containerised applications (Docker)</li><li>Contributing to deployments on AWS ECS / EKS with support from the team</li><li>Debugging issues and improving performance and reliability</li><li>Taking part in sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives</li><li>Maintaining and improving documentation</li></ul><p><b>What We&rsquo;re Looking For </b></p><p>You Have:</p><ul><li>Experience with PHP in a commercial or personal project setting</li><li>Some hands-on experience with Symfony and/or Laravel</li><li>A solid grasp of web fundamentals (HTTP, REST APIs, MVC)</li><li>Experience using Git in a team environment</li><li>Basic experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)</li><li>A growth mindset &mdash; you enjoy learning new tools and approaches</li><li>Good communication skills and a team-first attitude</li></ul><p><b>Bonus Points If You Have: </b></p><ul><li>Experience with ecommerce platforms or integrations</li><li>Exposure to Docker or container-based development</li><li>Any experience with AWS, ECS, or Kubernetes (EKS)</li><li>Familiarity with automated testing (PHPUnit, Pest, etc.)</li><li>Startup or agency experience</li></ul><p><b>What We Offer </b></p><ul><li>A strong focus on learning and mentorship</li><li>Exposure to a wide variety of projects and technologies</li><li>Hands-on experience with modern cloud infrastructure</li><li>A collaborative, low-ego engineering culture</li><li><b>Flexible working hours and location (role-dependent)</b></li><li>Experience with different use cases across a diverse client base</li></ul><p><b>Growth &amp; Progression </b></p><p>We actively support progression.
