We're trusted by some of theUK's most recognisable organisations; including the NHS, Police Forces, andManchester City Football Club.As we continue our rapid growth, we're strengthening the foundations of ourtechnology platform and are looking for an experienced Platform Lead to own,evolve, and future-proof our infrastructure and DevOps capabilities.The OpportunityWe're seeking a highly capable and hands-on Platform Lead to take ownership of thetechnical platform that underpins our Laravel and WordPress applications.This is a critical role within our Engineering function, focused on ensuring ourplatform is secure, scalable, performant, and reliable, while enabling developmentteams to ship high-quality software quickly and safely.You'll work closely with engineers, QA, product leadership, and the CTO to defineplatform standards, improve deployment confidence, and ensure our infrastructurescales smoothly as the business grows.What You'll Be DoingDesign, provision, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure across cloud and VPSenvironments.Own and manage the web stack, including NGINX, PHP-FPM, databases, cachinglayers, and queue/job processing services.Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance across QA, staging, andproduction environments.Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code and repeatable provisioningprocesses.DevOps & CI/CD:Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Laravel and WordPressprojects.Automate build, test, and deployment workflows to reduce manual overhead.Improve deployment reliability, rollback strategies, and overall release confidence.Enable safe, frequent deployments through robust automation and tooling.Security & ReliabilityOwn the platform's security posture, including patching, access control, secretsmanagement, and monitoring.Implement secure deployment practices and clear environment separation.Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and resilience improvements.Ensure effective backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes are inplace.Testing & Quality Enablement:Enable and support automated testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end).Ensure CI pipelines enforce quality gates such as automated tests, linting, and staticanalysis.Work closely with QA to improve release confidence and reduce production issues.Observability & MonitoringImplement and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting across the platform.Track uptime, performance, and error rates across environments.Use metrics and insights to proactively improve platform stability and reliability.Engineering Enablement & Leadership:Act as a technical escalation point for infrastructure and deployment-related issues.Define platform standards, best practices, and technical documentation.Support and mentor developers on DevOps and platform-related topics.Collaborate closely with engineering leads and the CTO to shape platform strategy.What We're Looking ForStrong experience with Linux server administration.Deep understanding of hosting and operating PHP-based platforms, includingLaravel and WordPress.Proven experience implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.Experience with cloud infrastructure and server provisioning (DigitalOceanexperience is beneficial).• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, or similar).Strong understanding of security best practices for modern web platforms.Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.Confidence troubleshooting and resolving production issues under pressure.Desirable ExperienceExperience leading or owning a shared engineering or platform function.Knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and/or orchestration tooling.Experience supporting high-traffic or SaaS platforms.Familiarity with compliance or security frameworksJob Type: Full-timePay: £60,000.00-£70,000.00 per yearBenefits:On-site parkingWork from homeWork Location: Hybrid remote in Harrogate HG3 2XA
